Hey all,
Sorry I’ve been away for so long. Between computer problems and what not, I’ve literally had no real time to write…nor the interest in doing so.
Ever since healthcare overhaul passed…I literally felt stuck. When there are so many bills being passed without any consideration of how the American public feels about it, as well as not having enough opposition in Congress to halt them, you become quite sad. People not reading bills. Laws not being enforced. You not being heard. It was a lot to take in.
The Healthcare Bill was and still is unconstitutional. You might think, “Well, at least something is getting done. People are finally getting healthcare.” And I ask you, “But at what cost?” Medicare is becoming bankrupt….and this program is the same framework. To mandate that every citizen should have healthcare poses these issues now:
- The unconstitutionality of going over states’ rights and having each state flip the bill.
- You being fined or imprisoned if you don’t obtain healthcare. The longer you don’t have healthcare…the more you can be fined.
- This is a small and big business killer. Let’s say you have a small business and you hire a certain amount of workers. You, as the employer, have to pay for the employees’ health insurance. Well, that costs a lot, so maybe you can’t afford it. But then, the government says, “You can’t pay for health insurance for your employees? You have to pay a fine per employee.” Well then, you then can only afford to pay for less employees…meaning you’ll have to lay people off. The worse this gets…the worse it is for a small business to keep afloat. But what about the big companies you ask? Well, they can’t afford it either and want to keep costs down, meaning this: lower benefits, poorer quality insurance, pay cuts, and probable layoffs. Specifically in fields like the creative industry, this is the main reasoning for the huge increase in freelancers. By freelancing, you eliminate the need to pay for health insurance and the cost for that employee working under you. In other industries and companies, employers and department heads are merging their departments and laying off veteran employees for the same reason.
So this…in a nutshell…is but one issue I didn’t feel like talking about when it passed…because it is such a big blow to job creation, as well as increasing the aggravation that I already have with this administration.
So what have I been doing exactly: A lot of videogames. Yup. Bioshock 2, Dead Space, and Grand Theft Auto. This, and working on my own personal website. I just needed a break from talking about this crapola.
I think there a lot of people like me who are just kind of waiting. Waiting for something good to share. There is so many bad deals and crappy things happening that I’ve been just trying to be patient and live life as best as I can. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss…..and its better to just try to block out some of the things that have been happening. I’m just waiting for a real leader to emerge. One who truly wants to unify and showcase their pride in America, and build back up American ingenuity.
That is why I say,” Thank God for Pad Thai, Plum Wine, and Silly Putty.”
I will be trying to write more often and promote this blog a lot more. Make sure you tell your friends and direct them here.
